This year's celebration of our history & heritage will feature a full day of activities & exhibits for the community & visitors. Again this year, we are raising funds to complete a permanent tribute to the 3000+ veterans and community service personnel from Jonesville & surrounding communities. Names will be posted on railings from the Hugh Chatham Bridge that are located in Mineral Springs Park.
In addition to sponsorships & individual donations, a silent auction of merchandise from local businesses (shops, wineries, restaurants, hotels, etc.) will be held in the Senior Center from 11 am to 2 pm. Also in the Senior Center will be displays of historic relics, local authors, art & crafts.
The 5K begins at 8:30 am (late registration at 8 am) for the second annual Brushy Mountain 5K Race/Walk. The 5K is free. Sponsors will be announced later .... Register by April 28 to receive a nice backpack. The first three finishers will receive medals (for those who prefer a faster pace)! Refreshments will be provided for participants. See application for details. The 5K is coordinated by Moms RUN this Town. Yadkin County Sheriff Dept., Jonesville Police Dept. and Arlington Fire & Rescue will assist with traffic control and safety.

Local entertainers this year include Leon Reece & Elizabeth "Tinky" Fisher performing in the opening program, Libby Haynes &Tim Wilson with two hours of karaoke, Bruce Temple & Jim Crissman (with the Urban Squirrel Band), Stan Bobbitt Band, Kitty Martin & Tammy Martin-Burns, Clarence Gray & the Praise Team from local churches. Additional demonstrations & other entertainers will be announced later.
Arts & Crafts sales, individual flea market/rummage vendors, homebased businesses, exhibitors, demonstrations & food sales will be set up around the bandstand and shelter. Weather permitting, sky divers will arrive before noon. There will also be a car show & bouncy games (from 2 - 4 pm). A special fun ride for kids is scheduled for the afternoon. A Jonesville vs Arlington "Old Timers Softball Game" will be a new event this year. Fireworks, sponsored by the Town & the Tourism Board, will begin at "dark-thirty."
